DelVal Center for Learning in Retirement Courses Begin Feb. 2

Registration is on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis

Doylestown, PA (01/13/2026) — Delaware Valley University Center for Learning in Retirement (CLR) courses begin Monday, Feb. 2 and cover a wide range of topics, skills and activities. Classes are offered in-person, online or in hybrid models, giving learners the opportunity to learn from anywhere.

One hybrid course available this spring is Our Mind Matters: Caring for Mental Wellness From Covid and Beyond. The COVID-19 pandemic touched everyone's lives and brought unique challenges, especially for older adults. In this seminar, Carrie Lettiere will take a thoughtful look at how the pandemic has affected mental wellness, explore common issues many are still facing and share practical strategies to help keep both mind and body calm and balanced in today's world. This one-time seminar will take place on campus with Zoom available for those who wish to connect remotely.

For learners looking to participate from the comfort of home, the Garden Fun-damentals course meets online each week to discuss plant selection and placement, plant maintenance, the basics of soil and much more. Course Instructor Janice Jacobs has been a gardener for more than forty years.

In-person courses include Senior Fraud, which will inform learners about scams often aimed at senior citizens, how to avoid them and how to protect yourself from fraud. This course is a one-session seminar led by Lauren Cronmiller.

Each course offers something different to learners and not all courses follow a weekly schedule. Courses may meet weekly, monthly, twice a semester or even only once as a seminar, allowing learners to register for courses that best fit their schedule.

The Center for Learning in Retirement brings members of the retired and semi-retired community opportunities for personal growth through learning. For nearly 40 years, CLR has provided a diverse selection of peer-led classes each term. The $50 membership fee per season entitles members to register for an unlimited number of courses on a first-come, first-served bases.

Interested learners can register at delval.edu/CLR.
