Delaware Valley University Names Randy Barfield as Vice President for Finance and Administration

Barfield was selected for the role of VPFA after a national search.

Doylestown, PA (03/17/2021) — After serving in an interim role, Randy Barfield has been named the permanent vice president for finance and administration at Delaware Valley University.

"Randy is an accomplished CFO with expertise ranging from financial planning/modeling to capital structure and IT systems," said DelVal President Dr. Maria Gallo. "Before joining DelVal, Randy worked as a VPFA for an international research consortium as well as a small private four-year institution like DelVal. He has provided excellent leadership and ideas as interim vice president since January and, I'm confident in his ability to help DelVal achieve its strategic goals as we head into the future."

Barfield joined DelVal in January 2021 as interim vice president for finance and administration. Before joining DelVal, Barfield served as a special assistant to the president of St. Augustine College and vice president for business operations at Carthage College. At Carthage College, Barfield oversaw all business administration operations of the college including the business office, student accounts, information technology, human resources, library, bookstore, facilities operations, campus construction, grounds maintenance, food service operations, conferences, student employment, and campus security. He oversaw 150 direct reports at Carthage. He also served as vice president for finance and administration for SEMATECH, an international research consortium. Barfield has experience leading administrative functions including finance, HR, IT, law, contracts, purchasing, marketing, communications, corporate program management office (PMO), and member company relations. At SEMATECH, he managed 60 indirect and supervised nine direct reports. He brings 26 years of experience in financial management to the position.

As vice president for finance and administration, Barfield will continue to be responsible for financial planning, management and assessment of the financial activities of the University, as well as leadership of the information technology, facilities, auxiliary services and enterprise risk management activities.

Barfield earned both his bachelor's in business administration and his MBA from St. Edward's University.
