DelVal Welcomes First Longwood Gardens Professional Horticulture Graduates Through Articulation Agreement

The partnership between DelVal and Longwood Gardens expands educational opportunities for aspiring horticulture professionals.

Doylestown, PA (07/27/2026) — This fall, Delaware Valley University will welcome the first students to enroll through its articulation agreement with Longwood Gardens' Professional Horticulture Program, marking an important milestone in a partnership designed to expand educational opportunities for aspiring horticulture professionals.

The articulation agreement allows graduates of Longwood Gardens' Professional Horticulture Program to transfer into DelVal to complete a Bachlor of Science in Horticulture. The partnership builds on a longstanding relationship between the two institutions.

"The Longwood Gardens' program parallels DelVal's experiential learning philosophy," said Dr. Doug Linde, professor of turf management at DelVal. "DelVal is fortunate to have two students that have just lived, worked and studied horticulture for two years at one of the top public gardens in the world."

Dr. Linde has taught courses in Longwood's Professional Horticulture Program since 2015 and played an instrumental role in developing and promoting the articulation agreement along with Dr. Jacqueline Ricotta, DelVal professor emeritus of plant science, Thomas O'Connor, associate director of Admission and coordinator of transfer recruitment, as well as Kay Chubbock and Andrew Gurka of Longwood Gardens. Students entering DelVal through the articulation agreement are anticipated to graduate with their bachelor's within four semesters.
