Delaware Valley University Partners with Local High Schools to Give Students a Head Start on College
The University is entering into articulation agreements that will allow students at several local high schools to earn college credits.
Doylestown, PA (09/09/2021) — Delaware Valley University is working with area high schools to allow local students to start earning college credits early. The University has entered into High School and Career and Technology Center Articulation Agreements with area high schools. Prospective DelVal students can save both time and tuition costs through the new articulation agreements. There are over 100 schools participating in Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. In Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Middle Bucks Institute of Technology and Upper Bucks County Technical School are on the list. In Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, participating schools include Central Montco Technical High School, Eastern Center for Arts and Technology, North Montco Technical Career Center, and Western Montco Career and Technology Center.
Students from participating high schools, and career, and technology schools, will choose from flexible course options to earn DelVal credits. The program offers an accelerated path to a bachelor's degree for high-achieving high school students. The agreements will also help to facilitate the retention and graduation of students.
Articulation agreements offer an official guarantee that classes completed at one school will be accepted when transferred to another school. They create a partnership between two institutions to recognize credit towards a degree.
"The articulation agreements are a great way for high school students to jump-start their college careers," said DelVal Executive Director of Admission Thomas W. Speakman. "Participating high school students will also have the flexibility to be involved with more programs at DelVal."
The University plans to make additional scholarship options available to participating high school students based upon their academic performance in the university-level courses that are offered through the program.
