Delaware Valley University Receives Grant from Foundations Community Partnership for KidsU! and InspireU! Scholarships

The grant supports scholarships for Bucks County youth, ages 5-18, in attending DelVal's summer camp programs

Doylestown, PA (05/03/2024) — Delaware Valley University (DelVal) proudly announced the receipt of a $4,000 grant from Foundations Community Partnership (FCP). This grant is designated to support Bucks County youth, ages 5-18, in attending DelVal's Kids U! and Inspire U! summer programs.

"This scholarship fund levels the playing field so all children and teens in our community can benefit from our fun, enriching, and spirited summer programs," said Barrie Silas, youth programs coordinator at DelVal. "Grants like this improve equitable access, so all children in our community can have fun, make friends, and learn to master something new."

The generous grant from FCP, awarded ahead of DelVal's 10th year of epic fun and mastery of summer programming for kids and teens, marks the university's first ever summer programming scholarship. The grant underscores DelVal's commitment to enriching educational experiences for local youth.

The entirety of the grant from FCP will be allocated as scholarships to campers residing in Bucks County who demonstrate financial need. DelVal estimates that approximately 20 scholarships will be awarded, with the exact number varying based on sliding scale determinations and the volume of applications received.

To apply for a scholarship, eligible families can access the scholarship application on DelVal's Kids U! and Inspire U! webpage. Applications will be reviewed and awarded within 2-3 weeks of receipt by a cross-departmental committee of DelVal employees.

DelVal offers over 80 full-day Kids U! and Inspire U! programs covering a diverse range of topics, ensuring that campers' unique interests and learning styles are catered to. The highly immersive weeklong specialty camps provide kids and teenagers with specialized tools, materials, instructors, and experiences. To further promote accessibility, the university has implemented an Accessibility Process and Policy to ensure that all children, regardless of background, can access the support services they need to thrive.

DelVal encourages all eligible families to take advantage of this opportunity to make summer programming accessible for their children. For more information about DelVal's summer programs and to apply for scholarship opportunities, please visit delval.edu/programs/youth-summer-programs.
