Northampton Community College and Delaware Valley University Announce New Partnership

Agreement streamlines transfer process, ensuring a smoother path for students to continue their education and reach career goals

Doylestown, PA (09/16/2025) — Officials from Northampton Community College and Delaware Valley University met on Monday, Sept. 8 to officially sign a new transfer articulation agreement. The agreement strengthens ties between the two schools and allows NCC associate degree earners to complete their bachelor's degrees at DelVal. Through the agreement, classes from NCC satisfy core class requirements at DelVal, allowing students to fully focus on their major once enrolled at DelVal.

The new partnership eliminates many of the challenges students face when transferring between institutions, including credits not carrying over. By providing a clear and structured pathway, the program helps students save time and money while staying on track toward their career goals.

For students like Patrick Flynn, the partnership represents an important step forward. Flynn began his higher education journey at NCC, unsure of what career to pursue. When he discovered DelVal and its landscape architecture degree, he spoke with his advisor and began the transfer process. This process proved arduous, however, because this partnership was not yet in place.

"Once I discovered DelVal was an option, I knew I wanted to enroll, but transferring ended up being more complicated than I thought it would be. This new partnership will make it easier for future students who are in the same position I was," Flynn said.

This partnership allows students who are undecided about their career or major, or who are particularly worried about covering the cost of a four-year institution the time to work out their plans without falling behind. It presents a valuable opportunity for both schools to enhance student support at a time when many are pursuing diverse and innovative paths to a degree.

"Delaware Valley University is thrilled to partner with Northampton Community College to create a seamless direct-enrollment pathway. This partnership supports a smooth transfer experience and also connects students with DelVal's signature hands-on learning opportunities, ensuring they gain both the academic foundation and real-world skills needed for long-term success," said Kathy Payne, vice president of enrollment management at Delaware Valley University.

Per the agreement, associate degree earners from NCC are guaranteed admission to DelVal and their application fee will be waived. The only requirement is that students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA.

The partnership officially begins with this signing, and interested students may now apply for the spring 2026 semester. Visit https://delval.edu/admission-aid/undergraduate/transfer for more information.
