Emmy-nominated and award-winning TV producers visited the DelVal campus in April 2021 to film an episode about DelVal. Hosted by Boylan, winner of "The Amazing Race," the series tells the stories of colleges and universities around the world.
Boylan, who will visit campus for the premiere, has hosted many shows such as "The Chef's Table" on PBS and over 100 segments for the Travel Channel. He was Rachael Ray's sidekick hosting "Rach to the Rescue" for her syndicated talk show. His passion for producing brought him an Emmy nomination for his work. As host of "The College Tour," he visits colleges and universities around the world to interview students about their experiences for the new, national TV series.
In the DelVal episode of "The College Tour," 10 students share their stories about how DelVal made their college experiences memorable and, how the university contributed to their success inside and outside of the classroom.
"The College Tour episode gives prospective students a very real look at what it is like to be a DelVal student," said DelVal Interim President Dr. Benjamin Rusiloski. "The DelVal learning experience is different from other universities. Our Experience360 Program integrates classroom learning, hands-on learning, leadership, research, and other opportunities starting on the students' first day on campus. Our students graduate with experience on their resume in their chosen field, whether that is preparing marketing presentations for business, writing, filming and editing a video for marketing communications, growing crops, breeding horses, or preparing for veterinary school. This is what makes DelVal different."
DelVal was founded in 1896 on the concept of "science with practice," the combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience, and is now celebrating 125 years of experiential learning.
"Thank you to all of the amazing students for giving us a great introduction to what it's like to be a student at Delaware Valley University," said Boylan. "It is easy to see why you all picked DelVal: the community atmosphere, small class sizes, hands-on experience, the award-winning Experience360 program and so many interesting career paths."
